The produce section of the local grocery store, the vendor booths at the local farmer’s market and even Instacart can be overwhelming.

That is why we have decided to categorize the vegetables into several groups such as the bulb vegetable group and the flower vegetable group that we have talked about so far.

The third category of vegetables is fruit vegetables.

Fruit vegetables are technically fruits, but we normally think of them as vegetables because of their savory flavors.

These vegetables are considered fruits because the edible portion of the plant  develops from the flower of the plant. Flower vegetables also contain seeds, typical of fruit.
