Public art has become both more common and more widely celebrated everywhere.
Here in Mississippi, Hattiesburg probably offers the most murals in the smallest area.
But murals can also be found in several other places across the state…including Jackson, Oxford, Starkville and Tupelo.

Welcome to Jackson
- Artist: Scott Allen
- Location: at the corner of State and Pearl Street
- Purpose: to show Jackson as the hospitable and colorful city it is
Oxford


- Located: Oxford Square North Plaza on Jefferson Avenue
- Purpose: to honor the Chickasaw Nation and remind viewers that the spirit of the Chickasaw Nation still lives on in Oxford.
- Subject: Princess Hoka, the Chickasaw young woman who owned the land where the Town of Oxford now resides

Starkville: Welcome to Fabulous Stark Vegas
- Located: intersection of Russell and Mill Streets
- Subject: Bully, the beloved mascot of Mississippi State University
Tupelo:

Chickasaw Heritage Mural
- Artists: Lujan Perez and MJ Torrecamp
- Located: at the corner of West Main and Broadway Streets
- Purpose: to celebrates the Chickasaw Nation and their long relationship with the area

- Artists: local artists Reid Caldwell and Kit Stafford
- Loxated: Tupelo Hardware Company
- History: Elvis Presley purchased his first guitar at this hardware store. The hardware store is now a cultural landmark, still maintaining the original appearance of the store.
